Self-injury is a negative coping response exhibited by people who are in distress and people who engage in NSSI are at a higher risk for suicide. The webinar will teach you the different causes for people to engage in NSSI, different methods in which a person might engage in NSSI, consequences of NSSI, and first aid techniques to apply to a person who engages in NSSI. The course builds practical skills to approach people who engage in NSSI with confidence, have a non-judgmental conversation, reassure them, and encourage them to get professional help.

Instructor's Name
Bio: Erinda Shah is the Founder and the Managing Director of MHFA India. She has completed her MA in Social Work and has been working since 2000 with various international and national organizations like WHO, UNICEF, ActionAid, The Banyan to mention a few. She is trained as a Psychotherapist by the European Association for Psychotherapy, Viena. She is a National Accredited Mental Health First Aid Instructor.
